Another day in Dubai

This is the last and only full day we get to spend in Dubai.
Our choices of what to see boiled down to Atlantis and the Dubai Mall, in the shadow of Burj Khalifa, the worlds tallest building. 
Why those two places of the myriad of places to see in Dubai? Because they best show the .... opulence that can be built with enough desire and way too much money.
The English language cannot adequately describe either of the two places, but a mate of mine did use a phrase that comes close to doing it  "... off its rocker ...." and he concluded by saying "The rest of the joint is a bit boring."
It's come a very long way since oil was discovered here in 1966 but I'm not sure it's headed in the right direction.
Time will tell, but in the meantime we're out of here in the morning.
